The right to information is one of the fundamental human rights, enabling the exercise of freedom of expression, participation in public life, and oversight of the actions of authorities and entities that influence public debate. The Institute for Human Rights and Media (IHRM) works to protect the right to accurate, accessible, and non-misleading information in the media and the digital environment.
IHRM monitors practices that restrict access to information, manipulate communication, conceal essential data, and abuse communicative mechanisms in the media and online. The Institute conducts analyses, prepares expert and legal opinions, and undertakes interventions in cases involving violations of the right to information, with particular attention to disinformation, indirect censorship, and institutional or economic pressure.
