Human rights constitute the foundation of the Institute for Human Rights and Media's work. The Institute focuses on the protection of rights related to the individual's functioning in the informational and media environment, in particular the right to information, freedom of expression, privacy, and the protection of personal rights.
IHRM's activities include monitoring the media and the internet, analyzing human rights violations in media and digital content, and providing legal and expert support to individuals affected by information violence, disinformation, hate speech, or communicative abuses. The Institute also participates in judicial and administrative proceedings, prepares expert opinions, and takes part in national and international debates on standards for the protection of human rights in the media and new technologies environment.
